From the information input on to the system we are able to effectively manage any upcoming service programme for any individual site and all sites as a collective. The system produces automated emails to the client and site owners informing them of impending 6 month or 12 month services, biannual overhauls or 50 hour overhauls (the 50 hour overhaul is an estimate produced by the database using previous clock readings).

The system is live on our website and is updated weekly which allows our clients access to the information in order that they can also manage their workload and obligations and provides information on a particular turbine including hoist number, service history, location, etc.

The database has allowed greater traceability and increased the level of management of the requirements under LOLER.

Windfarm Database

Skyform have developed a customer focused database which allows improved control of the service management of wind turbine components.

The database originated in simple excel format in 2008. Since then we have commissioned its development to one of the market leaders in database design with excellent results.

The database has been written on Microsoft SQL Server Express with a Windows User Application. The database, while being complex, is simple to use and manage. The Component Database contains information on various important aspects of all work completed and future scheduled work;

• Site location
• Site owners
• Site service company
• Turbine ID and location
• Serial numbers of all equipment within the turbine
• Engineers who carried out work
• Dates of all previous service, complete with paperwork
• Notes of any work completed to provide a history
